AHMET TUNCAY SAGUN

A Success Story…

The fishing journey that began in Samsun… Group SAGUN’s Chairman of the Board, A. Tuncay SAGUN, carried forward Kemal Balıkçılık, inherited from his father Kemal SAGUN, and transformed it into Group SAGUN — a company that now includes 8 subsidiaries, operates 18 facilities across 6 regions in Türkiye, and maintains production plants in 3 different countries abroad. Tuncay SAGUN’s remarkable success is rooted in one defining element: his deep, almost passionate love for fishing. Under his leadership, Group SAGUN has become one of the world’s prominent companies in its field, setting records with the variety and volume of products it manufactures. Today, the Group exports 70% of its production and operates with a workforce of 1,500 employees. With its extensive product portfolio and services across all sectors it operates in, Group SAGUN ranks among Türkiye’s largest industrial enterprises and holds the leadership position in its sector, consistently placing among Türkiye’s top 500 exporters. The Group currently exports directly to 35 countries, primarily in Europe and Japan.

By transforming fishing into a fully industrialized sector, Tuncay SAGUN ensures that Group SAGUN operates across every stage of the industry — from fishing and aquaculture to processing, storage, import, export, and logistics.

Having grown Kemal Balıkçılık into Türkiye’s largest company in its field over the span of 40 years, A. Tuncay SAGUN’s greatest ambition is to elevate SAGUN into a globally recognized brand. Beyond his achievements as a businessman, A. Tuncay SAGUN has served for 12 years as the President of the Istanbul Association of Seafood and Animal Products Exporters, as well as a member of the Turkish Exporters Assembly Sector Council.

Born in 1963, Tuncay SAGUN is married and the father of two children.
